Was my last post really on Christmas Eve??

It seems like forever since I actually felt well enough to post anything. I’ve still been managing to get online for about an hour a day to get essential ‘housekeeping’ done, but I really haven’t had the mental capacity to actually write anything.

One of the things that I have been able to keep up with though is list building via two great sites.

List Wiz has been especially good for me. You play a simple game for free and ‘win’ email contacts for your list. You can then use their mailer to send ads to your list for any affiliate program that you belong to.

Using this program, I have built a fairly small list of 500 contacts - but the important thing is that those contacts are highly receptive and I get at least two or three signups every time that I send out an ad. I’m able to send an ad every day, so that means I’m getting around 20 sign ups each week via a free listbuilding service.

The second listbuilding program that I have been using is ListQuik. This program has been less successful for me so far, but it is still relatively new and you can join for free.

You are able to send a message via their mailer to a random list of email addresses and I’ve found a fairly good response level to my ads, with three or four sign ups from each ad that I run.

Since I have my affiliate ads pre written, I have been able to keep up with sending messages out to these lists, throughout my illness without too much trouble, meaning that even while being laid low, I have managed to sign up over 100 referrals to my affiliate programs in the past month.

That’s not bad for an hour a day, using free listbuilding services.

I’m still not 100% yet, but I hope to get fully back into my routine within the next few days.

This is a short follow up to my last post about article writing.

To show how easy it is to get an article on the front page of a Google search, I spent 10 minutes writing an article yesterday, which I submitted to goarticles.com.

I spent about 15 minutes experimenting with different long keyword searches to find one which had results of less than 1,000 and then used my chosen long keyword as the title.

Result? less than 24 hours later my article was listed at 5 in a Google search.

This shows how easy it is to get your articles out there if you follow a few basic rules.

An important tool in promoting your blog is writing articles relating to your website and submitting them to “free content” submission sites.

Easy to do, takes little time and can increase your website traffic, sales and of course, your income.

The article on the free content site contains a link to your own website. Readers, after reading your articles, may choose to click on the link and pay you an unexpected visit.

Having them on the free content sites is also making these articles available to other webmasters who may wish to publish that article on their site - and if they do, your article will include a link back to your site. And anyone who reads the article on that site can still click on the link to visit your site.

It took me a long time to get started with article writing - after all it’s hard enough to come up with material to post on your own site right?

But after I realised just how much extra traffic they can produce - not to mention all the backlinks, I knuckled down to it and soon started to reap the benefits.
